While the Montreal Canadiens were often linked to Martin Necas, it now seems that his future is firmly with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The forward has just signed a new 2-year contract worth a total of $13 million.
This doesn't necessarily mean that Martin Necas will stay with Carolina for the entire season, but it is a clear vote of confidence from the organization.
Necas will thus earn $6.5 million annually for the next 2 years. There was often speculation that Necas could become a forward comparable to Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook for Kent Hughes.
