During the second period of the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning, an extremely unusual scene occurred, allowing the Canadiens to double their lead to 2-0.

Indeed, after making a routine stop, Samuel Montembeault passed the puck to his teammate Johnathan Kovacevic. However, all of the Lightning players were convinced that the play had been stopped, including goaltender Jonas Johansson.
While taking a stroll in the corner of the rink, the Lightning's goalie left his net completely unguarded. The Canadiens' defenseman seized the opportunity, scoring with a shot from his own territory.
Here is the goal in question:
Wow! This is certainly unprecedented!
This could potentially be the strangest goal of the season in the NHL. Without a doubt, this sequence is likely to make the rounds on the web over the next few days.
