Yesterday, we reported on the announcement involving the Columbus Blue Jackets placing goaltender Spencer Martin on waivers.
There was also talk about how the Jackets might have seriously hindered the Montreal Canadiens, who have been trying to offload one of their goaltenders since the start of the season.
The verdict is in for Spencer Martin
Well, we finally have our answer regarding the fate of Martin, as he has just been claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes.
This is bad news for Kent Hughes, as this organization was possibly the one most interested in the services of Jake Allen.
Hughes has definitely been outmaneuvered in the NHL waiver process, just like Columbus, which completely missed the mark by risking Martin's submission to other league teams.
The Canadiens may have just lost a potential buyer for Allen.
