Worrying announcement from Arber Xhekaj on his health
In recent hours, during his press conference marking the end of the Montreal Canadiens' season, Arber Xhekaj made a concerning statement about his health.
As you might already know, the 23-year-old defenseman suffered another major shoulder injury recently, which abruptly ended his season.
Unsurprisingly, just like the other shoulder that he had operated on last year, Xhekaj underwent surgery in Colorado, performed by Dr. Peter J. Millett.
Since he didn't appear to fall in battle during an obvious play sequence, many wondered what really happened for him to be suddenly pulled from the game before the end of the schedule.
The Sheriff made a frankly astonishing but also worrying revelation related to this problem, which apparently had been recurring for some time.

Wow... We thus learn that Xhekaj tried to hide his health troubles, in order not to hurt his chances with the Canadiens...
To tell the truth, I find it quite amazing that he was able to keep the secret so long, and all that, for fear of possibly losing his place in the team.
This also explains why he might not have thrown his gloves very often this season, despite a few situations that lent themselves well, like when Kaiden Guhle took a questionable hit from Nikita Kucherov, for example.
The silver lining of all this is that he'll be ready for the new campaign next year, especially since there will be several important battles within the Canadiens.
With Logan Mailloux, Lane Hutson, and David Reinbacher joining the mix for a spot on the blue line, it will be crowded as they say.
