We have just learned in the last few minutes that Kevin Bilodeau, 31, is accused of armed assault and causing bodily harm after attacking a referee during a dek hockey game in Quebec.

The incident occurred Tuesday night at the Beauport dek hockey center.
Frustrated after being ejected by referee Mathieu Joncas, 38, Bilodeau allegedly struck him in the face and chest with a stick, causing serious injuries, including a fractured jaw, broken teeth, and a concussion.
Arrested and questioned by Quebec police, Bilodeau will be released on a promise to appear in court.
As a result, the National Ball Hockey Players Association (NBHPA) has banned him for life from all its leagues.
Bilodeau, who has no criminal record and is himself a referee, has sparked a reflection on violence in sports.
