In recent weeks, New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe has been making a lot of noise, and he has just sent a message to the Montreal Canadiens' sheriff, Arber Xhekaj.

Indeed, the towering fighter (6'8" and 240 pounds) has only played 13 games since his call-up with the "Blueshirts," but he has already made a name for himself across the NHL. Having accumulated 54 penalty minutes since his arrival in the NHL, the 21-year-old did not hesitate to drop the gloves against some of the league's toughest enforcers, including Matt Martin, Nicolas Deslauriers, Mathieu Olivier, and Ryan Reaves.
Moreover, knowing that the Canadiens will face the Rangers on April 7th, the expectations are high as all fans hope to see a showdown between the two strongmen. If Arber Xhekaj has reduced the frequency of his fights recently, we can expect him to accept a challenge of such magnitude, wishing to prove that he is still the best fighter in the NHL.
Now back in action after a four-game suspension, Matt Rempe will want to show his head coach that he is an important piece for the team, and his best asset to do so is by playing a robust style of game and defending his teammates.
The former Seattle Thunderbirds player in the WHL has notably sent a strong message to his opponents, including Arber Xhekaj, indicating that he is now taking Muay Thai and boxing lessons to refine his fighting technique.
«I practice Muay Thai. My friend and I started last summer with a guy in Calgary, and I love it,» he confirmed on The Bronx Zoo podcast, adding that he is also taking some boxing lessons. «It's very enjoyable, I'm 21 and I want to learn more. I still have quite a few aspects to work on.» - Matt Rempe

Hearing such statements, Arber Xhekaj might think twice before dropping the gloves against such a fighter. However, Arber Xhekaj is not one to back down from anyone, and it would not be surprising if he accepts Matt Rempe's invitation to drop the gloves with the number 72 of the Montreal Canadiens.
Arber Xhekaj, 23, has accumulated three goals and six assists (nine points) in 41 games this season, notably racking up 79 minutes in penalties. On his part, the 21-year-old, Matt Rempe, has scored one goal and one assist (two points) in 13 games, with an impressive total of 54 penalty minutes.
Certainly, it will be a matchup to watch in a few days!
