The Montreal Canadiens surprised many with their first choice in the third round. A well-known name, Aatos Koivu, is the Tricolore's pick.

The son of former Canadiens captain Saku Koivu, he was selected by the Montreal organization at the 70th overall pick in the third round of the NHL draft.

The Finnish forward showed significant progress late in the season and stood out at the Under-18 World Championship.

Aatos aims to make a name for himself alongside the reputation of his father and uncle Mikko, a former captain of the Wild.

He has the potential to become a good third-line player, skilled in both ends of the ice with an intriguing offensive touch. However, his development will need a few more seasons before he reaches the NHL.
