The Montreal Canadiens ultimately drafted two players with their two first-round picks. No transactions occurred involving the 21st overall pick.

Following a trade with the Kings to acquire the 21st pick, multiple reports indicated that Montreal was not finished shopping.
After several discussions, Kent Hughes and his team decided to select again in the first round, drafting forward Michael Hage with their second first-round pick.
The Canadiens have been linked and remain associated with Winnipeg Jets prospect Rutger McGroarty. The general manager is closely monitoring this situation.
Reporter Chris Johnston stated that Kent Hughes had talks with the Jets about a trade involving the American forward.
Rounds 2 through 7 are underway today in the Las Vegas Bubble, where McGroarty could very well change teams during the draft.
Kent Hughes appears to be working on multiple fronts, and the long-awaited trade for a top-six forward could very well happen today.
Keep a close eye on developments!
