Macklin Celebrini and the Canadiens: it is officially confirmed

Following yesterday's rather surprising victory of the Arizona Coyotes against the Edmonton Oilers, the final ranking in the overall standings was finally confirmed, and the Tricolore will thus finish in 5th place looking ahead to the next draft, representing the best realistic possibility for the club to add young talent.

So, theoretically, unless there's a turnaround related to the lottery, the CH will pick at the same rank as last year, and for a third time in a row in the top-5.

This advantageous position also gives the Tricolore management 8.5% and 8.6% chances of drafting in the first or second overall positions, which is also significant.

The 2024 auction is expected to be absolutely chaotic for teams selecting in the top-10, as there is virtually no consensus among experts, aside from Macklin Celebrini at the first overall rank.

Given that the Canadiens would ideally like to add a top-tier talent to the offense with this 5th pick, there is a good chance that the organization could secure a player with elite potential like Ivan Demidov or Cayden Lindstrom.

It will be another very promising draft for the future of the Canadiens.
