Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes is known for making trades during the draft. His shopping spree is far from over.

The statuses of Martin Necas, Trevor Zegras, Patrik Laine, and more recently Rutger McGroarty are still unresolved, and a conclusion could come during the second day of the draft.

Kent Hughes openly stated that he is currently working on several things. Discussions are plentiful across the league, and the general manager is still focused on acquiring a player who can provide offensive punch.

The general manager Kent Hughes responds to the question of whether he is preparing something in terms of trades for the second day of the draft, tomorrow: "yes, I wouldn't say close... but yes, we're not done trying"
