Arber Xhekaj appeared to be a very happy man when he met with Quebec journalists yesterday after signing a new deal with the Canadiens.
The rugged defenseman has signed a two-year contract worth a total of $2.6 million. It's widely agreed that this is a very favorable deal for the Montreal Canadiens.
During a Zoom conference, the player known as "The Sheriff" discussed various topics with journalists. Naturally, he is pleased with his new contract and confirmed that he is fully recovered from a shoulder surgery.
Xhekaj also talked about his "tough guy" role with the Canadiens. It seems that this role is making a comeback with the presence of players like Matt Rempe, Ryan Reaves, and Nicolas Deslauriers.
Regardless, Arber Xhekaj is a valuable asset for the Tricolore in this regard. He also understands what is expected of him for the team led by Martin St-Louis:
Arber Xhekaj on his reputation as a fighter: "I know what I can do on the ice... having that aspect in my game, as a defenseman, and the other half is being that 'physical beast' who can fight if necessary... you don't want to take liberties with my teammates because I'm here!"

Intéressant. Arber Xhekaj est donc un joueur important, puisqu'il est unique en son genre, pour les Canadiens de Montréal.
