The Ottawa Senators recently announced two key hires aimed at revitalizing the organization.

To handle communications for the Ontario-based franchise, the Senators have brought on Sylvain St-Laurent and Ian Mendes to manage this crucial department, especially in the context of 2024.
Who are they? Both are former journalists who covered the Senators for many seasons and have a deep understanding of the organization.
This decision closely mirrors the Canadiens' approach with Chantal Machabée.
After dismissing Marc Bergevin and hiring Jeff Gorton and then Kent Hughes, owner Geoff Molson also chose to appoint Chantal Machabée as Vice President of Communications.
The former RDS host and journalist has excelled in her role since her hiring, contributing to a more accessible image of the players.
The Senators have been searching for their identity for some time, caught between the two major markets of the Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Often seen as the "poor cousin," the Sens hope St-Laurent, who was the sports editor at Journal "Le Droit," can help enhance their francophone presence and improve the team's image.
Ian Mendes, who has covered the team for "The Athletic" in recent years, will also bring valuable experience.
This move by the Senators seems to be a good one, reminiscent of the Canadiens' decision with Chantal Machabée.
