Scoop: Gary Bettman's announcement for the city of Montreal

Bettman will make this announcement before the first game of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers in Sunrise.

The tournament will feature teams from Sweden, Finland, the United States, and Canada, and will serve as a preparation for the Olympic tournament at the Milan Games the following year, marking the return of NHL players to the Olympics after a 12-year absence.

Although Montreal and Boston were initially chosen to host the tournament, doubts were raised in May by Sportsnet, suggesting that Toronto might replace Montreal.

Nevertheless, Montreal remains confirmed as a host, dispelling those uncertainties.
