Kent Hughes has been rather quiet on the trade market since the beginning of the offseason. However, we could soon see some movement.

According to a New York radio host who is usually well-informed about NHL affairs, the Canadiens may make moves in the coming weeks and are still looking for a top-six forward.
There was anticipation that the Tricolore's general manager would make trades before, during, or after the draft, as well as before free agency opened, but no transactions have materialized yet.
Players like Martin Necas, Trevor Zegras, Patrik Laine, and even Kaapo Kakko have not changed teams yet. In summary, the NHL trade market is currently rather quiet.
This is often the case in the middle of July, but expect the market to pick up, with Kent Hughes paying close attention to potentially available players across the league.
He has never hidden his interest in adding talent and depth to his offensive lineup.
"The trade market usually slows down after the first week of free agency and picks up again in August. The Canadiens are still in search of a scorer, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade made before or during training camp.

Rangers fans can expect a small surprise on the trade market, and the New York Islanders are also still shopping around."
