Signed as a free agent by the Montreal Canadiens last July, Alex Barré-Boulet was seen in his new uniform during the Pro-Am Sun Life event at the Centre Vidéotron.
At the event, he wore number 12, the same number he had with the Tampa Bay Lightning. However, his Canadiens-colored helmet revealed that he will choose number 27 for the upcoming season.
Hailing from Montmagny, Barré-Boulet becomes the 21st player in franchise history to wear this number, following defenseman Gustav Lindström from last season.
Notable previous wearers of this number include Frank Mahovlich, Shayne Corson, Alex Kovalev, and Jonathan Drouin, all known for their offensive skills.
