It has just been confirmed for Kris Letang and the Montreal Canadiens

According to Mark Madden's rumors, Letang has reportedly requested a trade to the Canadiens, although he has not publicly commented on this. Currently in Montreal, Letang shows signs of a connection with the team, as noted by Renaud Lavoie, who is a close friend of the defenseman and co-hosts a podcast with him.

In March 2022, Lavoie expressed his desire to see Letang in a Canadiens uniform. However, according to Kevin Vallée, this dream now seems unrealistic.

Letang signed a 6-year contract with the Penguins, which he accepted to avoid refusing, thereby giving up his dream of playing for the Canadiens.

With four years remaining on his contract at $6.1 million per year, Letang is likely moving further away from the Canadiens for good.
