Is Vinny Lecavalier going to be named coach of the Canadiens soon?
Vincent Lecavalier has been making strides in the Montreal Canadiens' hierarchy since joining the organization in his new role.
The former captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning accepted the challenge from his friend Kent Hughes to work with the Canadiens.
Currently serving as a special advisor to hockey operations, Lecavalier does not yet hold a full-time position, but he could see his role expand with additional responsibilities.
There are whispers behind the scenes that he could even join the coaching staff alongside his longtime friend Martin St-Louis, potentially replacing Alex Burrows as an assistant coach.
Vincent Lecavalier still resides in Florida, but he has never hidden his interest in getting involved with an organization, regardless of the role.
It's a situation to keep an eye on, and columnist Stu Cowan from the Montreal Gazette is also pondering the question.
''It will be interesting to see what Vincent Lecavalier's role will eventually become with the Habs.'' - Stu Cowan, Montreal Gazette"
A situation worth monitoring...
