When the Vegas Golden Knights added Anthony Mantha to their team at the trade deadline, they hoped he would provide a significant offensive contribution during the playoffs.
However, he only played in three of the Knights' seven playoff games and failed to register any points in those matches.
Now that he is free from any commitments, and with the arrival of Tomas Hertl among others, it seems unlikely that he will return to Vegas.
Could Mantha be an interesting option for the Canadiens?
This isn't the first time Mantha's name has been linked to the Canadiens, but this time it seems like a serious possibility as he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
Bob Trask, a columnist for Recrutes.ca, has examined this question, and his arguments are quite convincing.
