Imminent hire behind the Canadiens' bench?
The Montreal Canadiens have yet to find a replacement for Alex Burrows, which leaves the possibility for Martin St-Louis to manage the team's power play himself.
However, if the club decides to recruit a new assistant, Mark Recchi is a name that is often mentioned.
A former Canadiens player and power play specialist, Recchi was released from his contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets despite having one year remaining.
However, his recent track record is not very encouraging. Last year, he led the Blue Jackets' power play, which finished last in the NHL in this category.
Recchi was also fired from Pittsburgh and New Jersey for unsatisfactory performances.
Fans are skeptical, and it would be wise to wait before celebrating his arrival.
The Canadiens could consider other options or continue with the current staff for the upcoming season.
