Andrei Markov was a key and underrated player for the Montreal Canadiens in the 2000's.
The defenseman spent his entire career with the Quebec-based organization. Although he wasn't the most vocal, he let his talent speak on the ice.
Recently, Andrei Markov expressed his desire to become a coach and, in the same interview, he discussed his compatriot Ivan Demidov and his selection by the Canadiens.
According to Markov, Demidov has everything it takes to succeed and he will cherish the best memories of his life from his years in Montreal.
With a coaching assistant position still open for the Canadiens, some have suggested the possibility of Markov returning to Montreal in a completely new role.
Could he truly be a valuable asset behind the bench alongside Martin St-Louis? While Markov may not be the greatest communicator, he has a strong work ethic.
His discipline and knowledge could certainly help the many young talents on the Canadiens' blue line.
The question is certainly worth considering.
