The Laval Rocket has finally found their new head coach after several weeks of interviews conducted by the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Pascal Vincent, a native of Laval and former coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets, has been chosen for the position.
Vincent signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens, succeeding Jean-François Houle, who recently left to join the men's hockey program at Clarkson University.
During his first Quebec media appearance after being hired, Vincent was asked about the possibility of replacing Martin St-Louis as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens in the future.
Vincent clearly stated that this topic was not discussed and that he considered St-Louis a teammate, emphasizing that he is there to coach the Laval Rocket.
Journalist: "During your interview, were there any questions about whether, if the head coach position in Montreal becomes available one day, you would have priority and be considered for the role?"
Pascal Vincent: "Absolutely not. Martin St-Louis will be in Montreal, I will be in Laval, we will be teammates..."
