William Rousseau, a 21-year-old goaltender, makes the leap into professional hockey by signing a one-way contract with the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL.

Following a four-year junior career with the Quebec Remparts and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Rousseau departs the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with several notable achievements.
He led the Remparts to victory in the Gilles-Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup in 2023, also setting a QMJHL record with eight shutouts in a season. Recognized for his outstanding performances, Rousseau twice won the Jacques-Plante Trophy, awarded to the QMJHL goaltender with the best goals-against average, and was named Goaltender of the Year in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) for the 2023-2024 season.
Originally from Trois-Rivières, Rousseau initially planned to play for the University of Nebraska-Omaha before focusing on his professional career with the Heartlanders.
