Florian Xhekaj and the Canadiens: it is likely confirmed

RDS journalist Stéphane Leroux has just revealed a scoop about Florian Xhekaj, the brother of Arber Xhekaj, and the Montreal Canadiens.
After his team was eliminated from the playoffs in the OHL, the fourth-round pick from the last draft could very well receive an interesting offer from the Montreal organization.
«The Brantford Bulldogs have just been eliminated in 6 games in the OHL against Ottawa. This means that the junior season of Florian Xhekaj, who scored 34 goals this season, is over. It wouldn't be surprising to see him around the Laval Rocket soon.» - Stéphane Leroux
As Leroux points out, it wouldn't be surprising to learn in the next few hours that the 20-year-old joins the Laval Rocket.
Two options could be on the table for him from now on, either to officially graduate to the professional ranks now, or to play his 20-year-old season again in junior.
«Eliminated from the OHL playoffs last night, it will be interesting to see what happens next for Florian Xhekaj. Will the #CH management want him to play his 20-year-old season in junior or graduate with the Laval Rocket? In the short term, he can always sign an ‘ATO' to finish the year in Laval and for the rest we'll see! Personally, I think a player of this type would benefit more from playing quickly with men.» - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
However, as Marc-Olivier Beaudoin notes, Xhekaj's arrival in Laval could happen through the signing of a professional tryout, which would be interesting for him.
In 63 games this season, Arber's younger brother scored 34 goals and amassed a total of 65 points. He also collected three goals and five points in six playoff games.
