Unfortunately, for the second consecutive season, the Montreal Canadiens have already been eliminated from playoff contention, even with 23 games remaining in the 2023-2024 campaign.

Moreover, if last night's game against the Arizona Coyotes is any indication of what fans can expect in the coming weeks, the end of the season could be quite dull. Indeed, Martin St-Louis' men were lackluster, delivering an embarrassingly lackluster performance despite the win.
However, although the team's inconsistent performances have been far from impressive, much-anticipated reinforcements could soon arrive in town, potentially reigniting fans' interest in the CH's games.
It seems that three of the organization's prospects might make their North American debuts, namely defensemen Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, and Adam Engstrom. It will be very interesting to see them in action, given their high potential and promising futures in the NHL.
"The end of the season might be a bit dull for the #CH but at least we should be able to witness the North American professional debuts of...

- Lane Hutson (NHL)
- David Reinbacher (AHL)
- Adam Engstrom (AHL)

That could be quite interesting!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

Obviously, these three defensemen need no introduction. The Blue-Blanc-Rouge fans have closely followed their performances from the moment they were drafted.
This year, all three players have had excellent seasons. Lane Hutson terrorized the NCAA with a tally of 12 goals and 27 assists (39 points) in 30 games, establishing himself as one of the best defensemen in American college hockey.
20-year-old Adam Engstrom showcased his offensive skills in Sweden's top division. Despite his youth, the third-round pick in the 2022 draft accumulated an impressive total of 18 points in 45 games, competing at a very high level of competition.
As for David Reinbacher, last year's fifth overall pick experienced ups and downs with HC Kloten. The Swiss team struggled, having to change head coaches three times in recent months. Despite this, the Austrian emerged as a true pillar on the blue line, amassing 11 points in 32 games.
Certainly, we are eager to see them progress within the organization, where they will undoubtedly help the Laval Rocket qualify for the playoffs. Moreover, while Reinbacher and Engstrom are likely to join the AHL affiliate, it wouldn't be surprising to see the young American sensation, Lane Hutson, play his first games in a Montreal Canadiens uniform.
