A scene that is certainly unprecedented since Cole Caufield's professional debut with the Montreal Canadiens occurred yesterday, during the game against the Vancouver Canucks.

The small forward completely took out Elias Pettersson by hitting him full force near the boards.
Here are the images:
Honestly, I believe this is the first time I've seen Caufield take down a player in his career.
We hear more from him this season, but despite the fact that he's finding the back of the net less this year, number 22 is playing a much more complete "game" now, even becoming increasingly unafraid to play a bit more physically, which is frankly interesting.
If he can also start playing more in the tough areas near the opposing goal, I believe he will find significantly more opportunities to score goals than at present.
Nevertheless, it's an excellent development season for him, in his third full campaign, and I'm really not worried that his scoring touch will return soon.
Again yesterday, he was unlucky, hitting a post full on.
