In the last few hours, a new signing has been announced within the Montreal Canadiens organization. Indeed, the Canadiens' affiliate in the ECHL, the Trois-Rivières Lions, has agreed to a one-season contract with American center player, Mason Kohn.
The 26-year-old forward has played the last three seasons with the University of Windsor, accumulating a total of 22 goals and 41 assists (63 points) in 63 games. It's worth noting that he also played with Queens University in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.
Before making his debut in the university ranks, the Florida native also played in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers, the Oshawa Generals, and the Saginaw Spirit.
Given that several injuries are currently affecting Ron Choules' lineup, his arrival will certainly benefit the Trois-Rivières team. The Lions are currently ranked 7th in the North division, just four points away from a playoff spot.
