Bad news for Arber Xhekaj: it is confirmed by Martin St-Louis
Recently, during a press conference, the head coach of the Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, confirmed an unfortunate rumor directly concerning Arber Xhekaj.
As you probably already know, the Sheriff suffered a serious injury to his left shoulder, which will require significant surgery. This, of course, has ended his season a few games before its conclusion.
Many were wondering about the cause of Xhekaj's sudden injury, as he did not seem to have received a severe hit or been in another situation that could explain this problem.
One of the explanations was the altercation with Mikey Eyssimont of the Tampa Bay Lightning, during his last game, but again, there didn't seem to be a dangerous blow to his shoulder.
But the most credible theory was that the 23-year-old defender had been carrying an injury for a while, and this has just been confirmed by St-Louis.

From the coach's words, it can be understood that Xhekaj had a shoulder problem for some time. Despite this, it's remarkable to see what he was able to accomplish with an injured shoulder, as he played good hockey lately.
The silver lining is that he will only miss a few inconsequential games at the end of the season, to be ready for the Canadiens' next training camp.
The battles for positions on the blue line will be numerous due to the organization's depth at this position, so Xhekaj will have to double down on his rehabilitation over the summer.
