In the final weeks of his breakthrough season in the NHL, Arber Xhekaj's year has been cut short by the necessity for season-ending surgery.

Arber Xhekaj, known for his remarkable journey to the NHL, which includes overcoming the odds by not being drafted at any level and making it to the NHL at the young age of 20, experienced a season filled with highs and lows this year. Earlier in the season, after a demotion to the AHL, Xhekaj made a strong comeback and secured a crucial role in the Canadiens' defense, working alongside the seasoned David Savard.

He has now had to undergo surgery that will end his season, but it is incredible news that Xhekaj will likely be ready to start next season
