Kent Hughes has more than one trick up his sleeve, and a transaction involving a young player could possibly happen soon, according to several reports.

The reputable media outlet The Athletic reports that the Montreal Canadiens could indeed finalize a deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but it might not involve Patrik Laine.

Kent Johnson doesn't appear to be progressing with the Ohio franchise, and he could be on the move. A fresh start would be beneficial for him.

The 5th overall pick in 2021 clearly has intriguing offensive potential, but he hasn't quite blossomed in the Jackets' uniform.

Kent Hughes and the Canadiens are closely monitoring his situation and evaluating what he could cost in a trade. Keep Kent Johnson's name in mind.
