A hostile offer from the Canadiens to Seth Jarvis?
This summer, the Montreal Canadiens aimed to strengthen their offense.
The drafting of Ivan Demidov was a big step forward, but the club is also looking to acquire a young top-tier forward.
Names like Martin Necas, Trevor Zegras, Patrik Laine, and Rutger McGroarty have been mentioned.
Among them, Necas seems most likely to depart, which would help the Hurricanes manage their salary cap.
Emily Sadler from Sportsnet suggests a bold idea: Seth Jarvis could sign a hostile offer, potentially with the Canadiens.
Sadler categorizes Jarvis under "revenge" in reference to the Habs.
She points out that few teams can offer Jarvis a salary increase, but the Canadiens, with all their draft picks available, could do so.
The Habs could offer Jarvis $9 million per year and give up their first, second, and third-round picks to the Hurricanes.
Although Sadler admits this scenario is speculative, Jarvis, after a season with 33 goals and 67 points, could indeed interest the Canadiens.
Such an offer could reignite the rivalry between the Habs and the Hurricanes.
