Josh Anderson's situation has been generating a lot of discussions since the beginning of the season.

Despite being the fourth highest-paid player on the team, playing more than 17 minutes per game, and consistently being on the first power-play unit, he has not scored a single goal in 17 games so far and has only two assists.
For a player who is considered a goal scorer, this performance is particularly disappointing, especially considering he is signed for $5.5 million for four more years.
Despite the fact that the big winger hasn't scored since the start of the campaign, Martin St-Louis continues to give him significant playtime, even in critical situations.
In connection with yesterday's game, the Canadiens' head coach was sharply criticized after the team's loss, with Anderson once again on the ice in the final moments when the team was desperately trying to tie the game.
However, St-Louis had Jesse Ylonen at his disposal, who scored two goals in the game with as little as 7 minutes 22 seconds of playtime.
"Jesse Ylonen, who scored 2 even-strength goals tonight, played 7:22 minutes (2nd lowest on the team).

Josh Anderson, who has scored 0 goals in 17 games this season, played 16:44 minutes (3rd among forwards).

Make sense of that."

With limited playtime on the fourth line and no presence on the power play, the Finnish player has three goals this season, unlike a big zero for Anderson.
Many fans are concerned about Anderson's usage and St-Louis's lack of creativity in not utilizing players like Ylonen more, especially when they are having a good game.
"No one asked coach Marty in his post-game press conference why Jesse Ylonen, a player who scored two goals in a single game for a team that can't score fucking goals, wasn't on the ice with a minute to play and a goal down. No one asked him why Ylonen played 7:22 minutes (2nd lowest on the team)."

We agree that it's time, after 17 games, for number 17 to take a step back when the team needs a goal, whether it's at the end of the game or on the first power-play unit.
