With the Montreal Canadiens resuming their activities and preparing for their first game in over a week against the Washington Capitals, there's concerning news about Arber Xhekaj.

The 23-year-old defenseman has been removed from the regular defensive rotation again. He was listed as an extra player in today's practice.
Defensive pairs this morning:

Matheson-Guhle
Struble-Savard
Harris-Kovacevic

Extra: Xhekaj

- Anthony Martineau

The sporadic use of Xhekaj, also known as the Sheriff in Montreal, is generating a lot of discussions, especially since he was playing significant minutes in Laval before his recall.
The question arises: Why recall him if he's going to be used as the 7th defenseman?
There's still no confirmation about his participation in tomorrow's game, but things don't look promising at the moment.
It seems he has definitively lost his regular spot on the Canadiens' blue line.
