The tragedy of Adam Johnson has shocked the entire hockey world, and slowly, we are witnessing several significant changes in the habits of hockey players.

Some leagues have already started to mandate the use of neck guards to prevent another fatal and dramatic accident, while others plan to do so in the coming months.
In the National League, for now, it's at the discretion of the players.
During today's practice with the Montreal Canadiens, we witnessed two significant changes. Brendan Gallagher and Michael Pezzetta were seen wearing this additional protection.
This is very good news.
As Jeremy Filosa points out, once again, as a good leader, Gallagher is setting an example, and it will likely influence young players to do the same.
In my humble opinion, I don't understand why all players don't do it, especially since this additional protection is not very intrusive. Thanks to technological advancements, it's much more comfortable than wearing a neck guard used to be.
