The Corey Perry case has been a major topic of discussion this week and is certainly shaping up to be the story of the year in the National Hockey League.

Even today, details are being revealed bit by bit, and this time, the excellent journalist Martin Leclerc from Radio-Canada has added his insight.
Leclerc has just revealed the exact reason why the Chicago Blackhawks are withholding details about what really happened and led to the termination of the 38-year-old veteran's contract.
Here is what Leclerc mentioned on the subject:
" Many people are reproaching the Blackhawks for their lack of transparency in this story. The problem is that someone was a victim of Perry's unacceptable behavior. And as an employer, Kyle Davidson has the responsibility to protect the anonymity of this victim, even within his organization.

If similar allegations were to arise within a law firm, a factory, or any other workplace, no employer worth their salt would disclose the existence of an investigation before it is completed, nor the names of the involved parties. It would be downright irresponsible.

- Martin Leclerc, Radio-Canada Sports"

This sheds light on the complexity of the situation the Chicago organization had to deal with.
It also further explains the lack of transparency surrounding the departure of the former Canadiens player. There is a victim of Perry's actions who must be protected, and that is what fuels the mystery in this story.
This helps us understand the magnitude of the situation.
