Tom Dundon, owner of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced the resignation of President and General Manager Don Waddell.
Eric Tulsky has been appointed interim general manager, while a search is underway to find a permanent replacement. Darren Yorke will support Tulsky as assistant general manager.
Waddell described his departure as a transition to a new chapter in his career after ten years with the organization.
Under his leadership, the Hurricanes achieved success, including consistent playoff appearances and a record streak of 67 sellout games.
Originally from Detroit, Waddell previously led the Atlanta Thrashers and won a Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings. Several rumors suggest he may join the Columbus Blue Jackets.
