Tony Marinaro makes a contract offer to Juraj Slafkovsky
This summer, two players stand out as restricted free agents with the Canadiens: Justin Barron and Arber Xhekaj. The other cases are less urgent.
For Justin Barron, the negotiations seem simpler, but Arber Xhekaj's situation draws more attention.
Additionally, General Manager Kent Hughes might discuss extensions with players whose contracts expire in a year, such as Kaiden Guhle and Juraj Slafkovsky. These two young talents, who recently participated in the World Championship, are a central focus for management.
Tony Marinaro suggested on TVA Sports that Slafkovsky could sign an eight-year contract worth eight million per year before his current contract expires, similar to Nick Suzuki.
However, some, like JiC, believe it is premature to offer such a contract and prefer a three-year bridge deal worth 15 million.
The Canadiens must decide whether to secure Slafkovsky now or wait.
Is it a risky bet? Stay tuned...
