The Quebec Remparts announced today that Jonathan Marchessault's number 18 jersey will be retired on Saturday, September 21. This banner will join those of Guy Lafleur (#4), Guy Chouinard (#7), Réal Cloutier (#10), André Savard (#12), Simon Gagné (#12), Éric Chouinard (#7), Alexander Radulov (#22), and Marc-Édouard Vlasic (#44), which are already hanging from the rafters at the Videotron Centre.
A native of Quebec, Jonathan Marchessault played for the Blizzard midget espoir during the 2006-2007 season and then moved to midget AAA, still with the Blizzard, where he played just one game before joining the Remparts for the 2007-2008 season. He was a 12th-round pick in the 2007 draft. His four-season stint with the Red Devils saw him score 98 goals and 141 assists for 239 points in 254 games, placing him 7th on the Remparts' all-time scoring list since their return in 1997.
