The journey of the fifth pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, David Reinbacher, could already be coming to an end with the Laval Rocket, at least according to a major statement from one of his teammates.
Indeed, his playing partner, Tobie Paquette-Bisson, mentioned something significant about the 19-year-old Austrian defenseman:
«He really impressed me and it's really easy to play with him. He has a good size. As much as he keeps his game simple, he's able to move the puck up. He has a good mentality, he's here to learn. In my opinion, we won't see him for long with the Rocket.» - Tobie Paquette-Bisson
This speaks volumes about his impact on the team's defensive squad.
Since his arrival, the Rocket has a record of three wins and one loss. He even looked very good in the game lost to the Utica Comets, and he seems to be getting more and more comfortable on North American-sized rinks.
Given his performances, he is likely to fight very hard until the end of the Canadiens' training camp for a spot in Montreal next year.
Reinbacher has played four games so far in the AHL, amassing 2 points and a +2 differential.
He even scored this beautiful goal in his first career game:
