With no official announcement yet from the Montreal Canadiens regarding the injuries of Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson, it seems likely that both forwards could miss a few weeks of action due to lower body injuries.

Christian Dvorak, the 27-year-old center, has been sidelined for the last two games and hasn't returned to the ice since the game against the Panthers on December 30. Josh Anderson appeared to suffer a serious right knee injury in last night's game after a collision with Thomas Harley, unable to put weight on his leg.
While the Canadiens managed with only eleven forwards in Dvorak's absence, Anderson's new injury will undoubtedly prompt General Manager Kent Hughes to make a move. Laval Rocket announcer Anthony Marcotte has identified three players who could potentially be called up to Montreal to reinforce Martin St-Louis' attack.
According to Marcotte, the first forward to be called up will undoubtedly be the 22-year-old Finnish forward, Emil Heineman, who recently played two games with the main club. Since returning from injury, the Canadiens prospect has performed well in the American Hockey League, accumulating six points in ten games.
« It smells like a double recall from Laval in the coming hours to compensate for the losses of Dvorak and Anderson.

I feel that Emil Heineman will be called up first. The second will be interesting. Brandon Gignac remains the most deserving, but he needs a contract. I wouldn't be surprised if Sean Farrell, who just had an excellent week with the Rocket, gets called up. » - Anthony Marcotte

Marcotte also suggested that the Canadiens might offer a contract to Quebecois forward Brandon Gignac. The third-round pick in 2016 has much more experience, having played over 250 AHL games. However, his current contract does not allow him to play for the Canadiens, hence the need for a two-way deal. Gignac, who has accumulated 10 goals and 18 assists (28 points) in 30 games this season, would be an intriguing addition to Montreal.
Another option could be American forward Sean Farrell. The Laval Rocket player has shown rapid progression in recent weeks, scoring five goals and six assists (11 points) in his last twelve games. He also played six games with the Canadiens at the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Certainly, expect some movement from the Canadiens in the next few hours!
