Martin Necas has been linked to the Canadiens for some time now. Now, informant Pierre LeBrun confirms the strong interest of the Tricolore in him.
Appearing on the "Hockey 360" show on RDS, Pierre LeBrun states that Kent Hughes called the Hurricanes to inquire about the price and availability of the young forward.
The Canadiens are not the only team to have called the Canes. According to LeBrun, Carolina is looking for established players and pieces that can help them immediately.
In summary, Rod Brind'Amour's team does not want young prospects or projects as well as draft picks. This may be slightly less than what the Canadiens can offer the Hurricanes.
Kent Hughes is clearly not alone in this race. At least the Canadiens are already working on the cases of some players who could be caught in a salary situation with their team.
