The Ducks forward had been repeatedly linked to the Montreal Canadiens. It appears that Kent Hughes's interest in the talented American is still present.

However, it raises the question of why players like Zegras and even Martin Necas of the Hurricanes remain with their respective teams despite numerous rumors.
