Martin Necas is one of the players most frequently mentioned in trade rumors lately. The Hurricanes forward could very well be leaving Carolina.
This isn't the first time you've heard the Canadiens mentioned as a potential team to make a trade involving Martin Necas.
The Habs are interested and have even reached out to the Hurricanes, it's confirmed. Renowned insider Darren Dreger goes further. According to him, the Canadiens are at the top of the list in the Necas sweepstakes.
The TSN journalist also envisions the young forward donning the Canadiens' colors next season.
"I see him landing in Montreal. He's the type of piece that Kent Hughes would want to add to his offense. The rebuild needs to conclude in Montreal, and it's time to turn the corner to aim for a playoff spot."
