TSN insider Pierre LeBrun first mentioned earlier this week that the Canes organization was one to watch for a trade involving a goaltender, and that the Canadiens were also under observation. Now, TVA Sports has just confirmed this same information.
Carolina has lost the services of Frederik Andersen for a long period, and they are looking to find a replacement. Antti Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov are not getting the job done, as both display an efficiency rate of less than 0.877, which is quite ordinary.
According to TVA Sports, the Hurricanes and their GM Don Waddell are considering six potential candidates: Jake Allen, Samuel Montembeault, and Cayden Primeau from Montreal, as well as Ville Husso, James Reimer, and Alex Lyon from Detroit.
There is rarely smoke without fire, and unless there is a turnaround in Carolina with a goalkeeper regaining their bearings very soon, it seems that this organization could take action shortly.
