Pierre LeBrun Confirms Imminent Trade for the Canadiens
TSN's renowned insider, Pierre LeBrun, has confirmed that a trade is imminent for the Canadiens, as Kent Hughes needs to address his three-goalie problem soon.
The general manager is well aware that he cannot put Cayden Primeau on waivers, as the Flyers and the Devils have shown significant interest in him.
The New Jersey organization is looking to strengthen its position in goal, as success has been elusive this year.
In Philadelphia, although Carter Hart has been performing well since the start of the season, Daniel Brière is looking to open doors, having put his goaltender on the trade market last summer.
The San Jose Sharks are also in the picture.
Since the waiver option is not a viable solution to the three-goalie rotation problem, it seems that the only solution will be a trade, unless an injury occurs to one of the three and buys Hughes some time.
