Things are no longer going well in Edmonton as the Oilers languish in 31st place

Nothing is going right in Edmonton, as the Oilers wallow in 31st place in the overall NHL standings, despite having two of the best players in the world on their roster.
It is absolutely unbelievable and very worrying for the future.
Although the team has never been known for having a good defense, the organization's goalkeepers are having a completely atrocious start to the campaign.

Major movements are expected in Edmonton in the upcoming weeks

There should be movement in the coming weeks for this franchise that should make the playoffs every year. With a record of 2-8-1, a shock treatment is needed quickly, if they hope to turn things around and catch up the six-point gap for the last playoff spot.
Moreover, a major trade has just been mentioned among the Oilers, and it would involve the Canadiens. According to several rumors, Jack Campbell's name is present in discussions for a potential trade to Montreal.

In connection with a move involving him, an offer is mentioned that would include the goalie

In connection with a movement involving him, an offer is mentioned which would include the goalkeeper, in addition to the 2nd and 3rd round picks. In return, the Oilers would get Samuel Montembeault and Joel Armia.
Frankly, because Campbell comes with a $5 million annual contract, for four more years, even if the Canadiens got rid of Armia's contract, this offer would not bring anything solid to Kent Hughes.
Montembeault is younger and more performant than Campbell with a lower salary and, for now, Armia is not hurting the organization. Moreover, his contract ends in 2025, instead of 2027 like the Oilers' goaltender.

At the stage where the Canadiens are in their rebuilding, 2nd and 3rd round picks are not as valuable

At the stage where the Canadiens are in their rebuild, 2nd and 3rd round picks do not hold as much value as before. Unless they obtain a first-round pick or a promising prospect, I don't see the interest for the CH's GM to make this exchange.
