Insider Confirms Kent Hughes is Eyeing Impact Player to Bolster the Canadiens Top-Six
In recent games, many observers have noted a significant weakness in the Montreal Canadiens: a glaring lack of offensive punch within the team's top two lines.
Clearly, the injuries to Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook do not help in this regard, but it's evident that the Canadiens must absolutely add a top-tier forward to advance to the next level in their rebuilding process.
During his appearance on TSN 690, insider David Pagnotta reported very interesting information regarding Kent Hughes and the trade market. According to what he's heard, the CH's general manager is involved in discussions to make a major trade involving an impact player.
"Several teams are looking and trying to make a trade. There are discussions for depth movements and for impact movements, and the Canadiens have been involved in some discussions for an impact trade." - David Pagnotta
This is certainly intriguing!
Shortly after this statement, David Pagnotta confirmed that the Canadiens have contacted several teams in the Bettman circuit in hopes of improving their roster soon. Clearly, Kent Hughes is not satisfied with his team's performances and wants to do everything in his power to help them find the path to victory.
Something is definitely brewing with the Tricolore, and it will be very interesting to see the moves the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge will make by the trade deadline.
There's no doubt that adding a promising young player, such as Kirby Dach or Alex Newhook, could have a significant impact on the Montreal Canadiens' long-term performance.
