In the past few days, Darren Dreger has revealed some very interesting information about a potential trade involving Quebec-born forward Anthony Beauvillier of the Vancouver Canucks.

Although he was acquired last January in a trade involving none other than Bo Horvat, the former New York Islanders forward finds himself back on the trading block.
It's quite surprising to see that the left winger from Sorel-Tracy is no longer in the plans of Patrick Allvin, especially since he has accumulated impressive statistics, with 26 points in 48 games since his arrival in Vancouver.
According to Darren Dreger's reports, the asking price for Anthony Beauvillier would be a right-handed defenseman who can play on the right side of the defensive brigade. The Canadian team believes that adding a quality right-handed defenseman would help them qualify for the playoffs for the first time since the 2019-2020 season.
« The Canucks are looking to improve, and a trade could mean the departure of one or two high-salary players.

TSN reported on Wednesday through its hockey expert Darren Dreger that the British Columbia organization wants to acquire a right-handed defenseman. » - TVA Sports

The Vancouver Canucks' General Manager, Patrick Allvin, was previously looking to trade Connor Garland, but his three-year contract with an annual salary of 4.95 million dollars was not very attractive to other teams in the Bettman circuit.
On the other hand, Anthony Beauvillier has a salary of 4.15 million dollars and will become a free agent at the end of this season. His situation is much more favorable, and it wouldn't be surprising if teams looking to bolster their offense contact the Canucks soon.
Will Kent Hughes, the General Manager of the Canadiens, be among those trying to acquire Beauvillier's services? A defenseman like Jonathan Kovacevic or Justin Barron might interest Patrick Allvin, but it remains to be seen if the Canadiens are really ready to part with a regular defenseman.
