BREAKING: Intriguing Young Defenseman Traded
A trade has just taken place in the NHL!
Minnesota Wild trade young defenseman Calen Addison
Indeed, according to the information reported by the excellent Kevin Weekes, the Minnesota Wild has traded young defenseman Calen Addison to the San Jose Sharks in return for a fifth-round pick in 2026.
"As Kevin Weekes first reported, Calen Addison has indeed been traded to the San Jose Sharks. The Minnesota Wild will receive a fifth-round pick in 2026, I'm told." - Michael Russo
Wow! This was really not expected!
Apparently, there is something odd happening with the defenseman selected 53rd overall in 2018.
Despite excellent offensive performances (34 points in his last 74 games), the 23-year-old is now traded for a fifth-round pick.
Akin to Jonathan Drouin, Calen Addison's situation was rather strange. Although he was sometimes used on the top defensive pairing and on the power play, he could find himself in the press box the next game.
Certainly, he will have the opportunity to get a lot of playing time with the San Jose Sharks, who are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings.
