The NHL has ruled after witnessing Connor McDavid receive two violent cross-checks late in the game yesterday in the series between the Canucks and the Oilers.
The National Hockey League's disciplinary committee has ultimately decided to issue a one-game suspension to defenseman Carson Soucy.
The Canucks' defenseman made a vicious hit to star player Connor McDavid's face. At the same time, the Oilers' #97 fell after receiving another cross-check from behind, courtesy of Nikita Zadorov.
Many feared that the NHL would not take action and would simply give the Canucks players a slap on the wrist. The Oilers will try to take advantage of Soucy's absence to even the series tomorrow.
