We learn more about Jonathan Marchessault's contract negotiations in the free agent market.
The Québécois has finally signed a 5-year deal worth a total of $27.5 million with the Nashville Predators. The announcement came shortly after Steven Stamkos' signing with the Preds.
In interviews with RDS and TVA Sports, Marchessault stated that the Canadiens were on his list and even his second choice after Nashville. It came very close to materializing with the Montreal organization.
It's also revealed that the Golden Knights had offered the same total amount as the Predators for the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2023.
